LG WON PRELIM TRIALS AGAINST SONY IN EUROPE, CUSTOMS SEIZES PS3S

For the past few months, Sony and LG were not in good terms with each other. Citing patent infringements, both companies have been trying to stop each other products from entering US and European market. Right now, the ball is in LG’s court as the Korean electronics giant has managed to won the preliminary injunction against Sony in Europe.

This directly resulted in thousands of new PlayStation 3 were confiscated by customs officials at their European main import points in Holland and will remain in warehouse for at least 10 days. While it is obvious that Sony has the right – and are executing it – to appeal to European patents office to get the ban lifted, LG also have the right to extend the ban
which will definitely hurt Sony even further.

Meanwhile, the situation hasn’t spread into Malaysia yet and usually it wouldn’t but who knows what is going to happen next.
