WATCHES NOW ALSO ENCOURAGES YOU TO SHARE YOUR CURRENT LOCATION

Despite many critics standing out and saying how dangerous it is to reveal your location information – not only in fear of robbers taking this opportunity to rob you, if they know you’re out of your house, they might just head there – it doesn’t stop anyone at all from using services such as Foursquare, Google Latitude, and Facebook Places. Now apart from using your Smartphones to check into places, thanks to inPulse Smart Watch, you can check in using the watch too.

Developed by lead designer in inPulse, Eric Migicovsky, the watch can easily connect to an Android or a BlackBerry phone and when you reach a destination, all you have to do is press a button on the watch and it will update your Facebook Places. You’re going to need an internet connection of course, the watch doesn’t actually do anything, the phone will. The watch will retrieve GPS information from your phone and show locations you’re at. Right after you pick your exact location and confirm it, the watch will then send that information back to your phone and it’ll update your social network account.

To those who say it’s actually easier to pull your phone out of your pocket and press a few buttons, I agree wholeheartedly. But this is only one of many apps the inPulse is capable of doing. You can also use it to get notifications right on your wrist, retrieve PingStat, connect to iTunes, and so many more. More information on inPulse right here, and as for announcing to the worldwide web where I am, no thanks, I don’t think I’m ready for that yet.

Video demonstration right after the break.
