Laser gun is a standard weapon in any science fiction flicks, ranging from Star Wars (Han shot first!) to Star Trek. How is it actually like to own such powerful weapon? Well, as demonstrated by Patrick Pribe, it is indeed quite awesome.
Hand built by Patrick himself, the gun is equipped with a small pulse laser head that is able to fire 1MW worth of infrared light. As shown in the short video demo –available after the jump – it is able to shoot through balloons, styrofoam and plastics and is also able to leave visible damage to wood and aluminium. Not to forget, the gun also looks pretty good and would make any science fiction fans drool.
While I assume that it is not able to pierce through your hand but still, I don’t want to be the person at the receiving end. I do, however, wish it has better sound though.
